Made with Alnico magnets, Excel Sound's award-winning Hana EL is an Elliptical-tipped, Low-Output Moving Coil (LOMC). It requires a high-gain "MC" preamp - or, a step-up transformer combined with a low-gain "MM" phono section. Recommended load resistance >400 Ohms. A budget LOMC champion. Made in Japan.
