Finalé Audio F168R Tube Amplifier (trade-in)
The 6BM8 is a special tube as it has both a triode and pentode section, allowing it to be used to preamplify the signal and drive the output transformer. This type of amp design results in a shorter and less complex signal path, with a more lively and 'direct' sound as the result.
Finalé's F168II was a popular entry level amp, and this "R" version is its ultimate expression. It has the potted Hashimoto output transformers (big upgrade), the upgraded Mundorf capacitors, and the Cardas Rhodium binding posts, with the addition of 4 Ohm taps as well. This amp makes about 10 watts per channel, Class A.
