VPI Aries Scout Turntable and Upgrades
"Rather, this is a flat-out, unconditional, "Holy Mother of Crap, I can't believe how good this thing is" recommendation. It's hard to imagine another way of spending $****.** that will add this much to your system." - Art Dudley - Stereophile

Very nice condition (8.5) Scout, with the 9T (tapered) JMW unipivot arm - with anti-skating. Original box, packaging and accessories. See photos. This is a Scout I (acrylic platter) that came with the 9T arm from the Scout II. It's an in between - a "Scout 1.5". If you've never owned a VPI and don't have loads of money to spend - this Scout or the bigger/heavier Classic are a great introduction to high end vinyl spinning. I've owned the HW-19, the Classic and now the Scout. They're excellent turntables in every way. Made in USA.
Offering as follows ($ Cdn):
Turntable and arm (no cartridge): $1500
Dust cover (Gingko): $200
VPI TNT feet: $200
All of the above $1750
No tax on any of the above. Local sale is preferred. Reason for sale is I've acquired three more high end 'tables this month, and something has to go.
*Bonus offer: buy the package above, and I can provide and install a brand new Dynavector DV20X2 Low Output Moving Coil (the DV20X was originally developed for the Scout!), for $800 plus tax. This is a $1380 cartridge that's currently reduced to $1100, so $800 is a sweet deal. And includes setup. I also have stock of the Hana SL MkII if you prefer the latest. Or fit your own. The Scout/JMW works great with the Denon DL103, and many others.
More info on the 9T (tapered) arm can be found here:
